Phoenix IT bags IBM award
The award was received by its managing director and CEO Murali Krishna Gannamani at New Orleans, Louisiana in the USA on Wednesday night.
Informing this to media persons here on Thursday, chief marketing officer of the company Rishi Phagnis said they were all thrilled that the company, the first in IT sector set up in SEZ here in 2001, could bag the honour, awarded each year to a select number of IBM business partners to recognise information technology excellence, commitment to skills attainment, industry omega watches knowledge and innovative solutions based on IBM technology and services.
He said Phoenix IT was involved in two large projects of energy utilities 20 million consumers in Tamil Nadu and two million in Uttarkhand. It was also handling EPDCL of AP which has 4.7 million consumers. “There is one more project in Afghanistan in association with IBM which is US aided. We are now planning to move outside the Indian subcontinent and also enter gas and water utilities,” he disclosed.
